Stippich

The Stippich , from Stübich or wooden barrel, was a measure of salt in Schwäbisch Hall . The name is derived from the packing barrels for fruit , salt and feed, the Stippichen.

There was the big Stippich with 20 measuring cups (640 pounds ) and the small one with 10 measuring cups (320 pounds). The pound here is the Württemberg pound according to the measurement of November 30, 1806 with 467.5866 grams and corrected on December 26, 1829 to 467.7 grams.
