The container ship type B191 (other spelling also B-191 or B 191 ) of the Stocznia Gdańska (Gdansk Shipyard) was built in a series of six units.

details

There were originally six ships of the series B191 by Schoeller Holdings at the shipyard Stocznia Gdanska in Gdansk commissioned ( yard numbers 191/1 to 191/6). Construction numbers 191/1 to 191/4 as well as 191/11 and 191/12 were actually built from 1994 to 1998. The ships got under way for Schoeller and other German shipping companies. The units 191/2 and 191/3 ordered by Schoeller, for example, were taken over by the Ahrenkiel Group before they were completed . The ship, originally commissioned as Cape Negro , was named Masovia after the Königsberg Corps Masovia .

The container ships with far achterem deckhouse were mainly in the container transport on branch lines and as feeder vessels used. The container capacity is around 1500 TEU , of which 200 TEU reefers can be driven. The carrying capacity of the ships is 22,800 tons. The maximum draft of the 175 meter long and approximately 27 meter wide ships is 10.5 meters. The ships have four holds locked with pontoon hatches and do not have their own cargo gear .

The ships are powered by a two - stroke diesel engine built under a MAN B&W license with an output of around 16,000  kW . The motor acts directly on a fixed propeller and enables a speed of a good 20  knots . There are also three Sulzer 6S20 H-2 CWF auxiliary diesels and an emergency diesel generator. The berthing and casting off maneuvers are supported by a bow thruster .
