The cargo ship type B-432 , also B432 is a series cargo ship type of the Szczecin shipyard Stocznia Szczecińska im. A. Warskiego .

history

The shipyard developed the ship type in the early 1970s. The ship series was built in 26 units from 1972 to 1980. Due to the further development during the current series, the series is divided into B432-I (5 units), B432-II (8 units) and B432-III (13 units). The first seven units of the construction program were delivered to the Polish state shipping company Polskie Linie Oceaniczne in 1972/73 and 1976/77 . The first ship in the series was the Radzionków with hull number 229. In addition, shipping companies from Egypt, Syria and the foreign trade company of the Soviet Union, V / O Sudoimport, later ordered ships of this series type. These were delivered between 1977 and 1981. In the 1990s, the majority of the dry freighters and some of the fish transporters were sold and continued to be operated by other shipping companies. The first units were demolished in the mid-1990s. The Skoczów was lost as the only ship of the entire series on July 21, 1990 after a collision with the L'Abanga . Today only one ship in the series is in the register, the former Chełm .

technology

The basic type of the B432 is a multipurpose dry freighter with about two thirds aft of the engine room and a long poop . The four holds each have an intermediate deck and together have a bulk cargo volume of 8673 m 3 and 8399 m 3 of ball space. Three of the holds are in front of the deckhouse and one in the stern. The hatches are closed by steel hatch covers . The loading gear consisted of three electrohydraulic 5-tonne ship cranes , a slotted heavy-lift boom with a 40-tonne heavy-lift boom and four 5-tonne light-weight booms as well as two additional 5-tonne booms. In contrast to the first two series, the B432-III series produced for Sudoimport was designed as a fish transporter with facilities for deep-freeze transport down to minus 18 ° C. Of this series, also known as the Tarkhansk type , 13 units were built, which had three deep-freeze holds with a total volume of 7143 m 3 and a dry hold of 1110 m 3 . All ships had a container capacity between 48 and 50 TEU.

The ship's propulsion system consists of a type 5RD68 two-stroke diesel engine manufactured under a Sulzer license by H. Cegielski from Poznań. The motors produce 4490 kW and act directly on a fixed propeller with a speed of up to 150 revolutions per minute. The energy was supplied by three auxiliary diesels , each with an output of 504 kW.
