The Friedenskircherl is a small chapel on the Stoderzinken at an altitude of 1898  m above sea level. A. in the municipality of Aich , Liezen district , in the Austrian state of Styria . It can only be reached via a footpath. Over the decades, this small place of worship on Gröbming's local mountain has become a landmark that is respected and honored far beyond the borders of the Ennstal .

history

The Friedenskircherl was built in 1902 by Emil Ritter von Horstig d'Aubigny . The little church is free for all denominations and was therefore not consecrated by any religious community. In the same year the Styrian folk poet Peter Rosegger visited it . Overwhelmed by the beauty of the Friedenskirche he wrote the following verse: “What should I write in these mountains full of sunshine? I can only be silent and happy in devotion! "

A stamp was dedicated to the Friedenskircherl in 1982 on the occasion of its 80th anniversary. The Friedenskircherl has been owned by the Austrian Mountain Rescue Service , Ortstelle Gröbming, since 1993 , which is also responsible for its maintenance. The Friedenskircherl became the film location for the third season of the series Die Bergwacht in 2011 .

Approaches and paths

From both parking lots at the Stoderzinken, a 20-minute hike leads to the Friedenskircherl. Over the Florasteig, with some mountain experience, a head for heights and good footwear, you can reach the summit of the Stoderzinken in about 30 minutes.
