Storøya ( Norwegian for large island ) is an island in the Nordfjord in the municipality of Stad in the Norwegian province of Vestland .
The uninhabited, wooded island is about 100 meters south of the north bank of the fjord and is off the coast of Totland and Bryggja . There are other islands in the vicinity, to the west of Holmane and Rundholmen , to the north of Griseholmen and to the east of Kisteholmen and Flotøya .
Storøya extends in a west-east direction over about 730 meters with a width of up to 330 meters. In its western part, the island rises up to 41 meters.
