Stormarnweg

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Stormarnweg is a 90 or 108 km long main hiking trail in Schleswig-Holstein. It runs through the Stormarn district in a north-south direction.

geography

The hiking trail originally led from Reinbek via Großensee (19 km), Ahrensburg (16 km), Bargteheide (15 km) and Bad Oldesloe (28 km) to Reinfeld (12 km) and vice versa. It was later extended by 18 km to Lübeck , so that the total length is 108 km today. The path is marked by yellow arrows outlined in red, some of which have faded. It runs on level, firm ground - only the forest stretches are partly uneven - and does not contain any notable climbs. The route runs in loops and touches the most interesting tourist spots in the Stormarn district, e.g. B. the monastery Nütschau .

description

The Stormarnweg was created on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Kreissparkasse Stormarn in cooperation with the Wanderfreunden Stormarn e. V. and elaborated and signposted with the support of the district. The opening took place in August 1988. The start and end points of the sections are connected by bus and train to the end points of the route - Hamburg / Reinbek and Lübeck.

Others

When preparing for the hike, it is helpful to have a route description given under the web links, which also contains information on places to stop and overnight, as well as bus and train stations. A GPS track is available on the Internet under the keyword "Stormarnweg". Sections of the route are unsuitable for cyclists.
