The tram depot Ulvsunda ( Swedish Ulvsundadepån ) of Storstockholms Lokaltrafik (SL) is located in the Ulvsunda district in Västerort in Stockholms kommun in Sweden . It is located near the Johannesfred stop on Tvärnana .

history

The depot was completed in 2014 and partially replaces the Bromma depot ( Brommadepån in Swedish ) from 1944, which has to be cleared for a housing project. An existing building adjacent to the depot was bought by Storstockholms Lokaltrafik (SL) to accommodate the traffic control center and staff rooms for Tvärbanan and Nockebybanan . The facility houses a workshop, a 37 m long paint shop and a storage facility for 60 articulated vehicles.

45 points and 3.996 kilometers of track have been laid within the depot, which involved a construction cost of SEK 1.5 billion .

The traffic control center was put into operation in September 2013 and the depot was handed over to SL in April 2014. In May 2016 the workshop and most of the vehicles were relocated from the Bromma depot. Commissioning took place six years after the planned date.

From today's perspective (2019), the capacity of the deposit is not sufficient for the enlargement of the Tvärbana to Kista and Helenelund so that the for the Blå linjen existing underground depot Rissne ( Swedish Rissnedepån ) in Sundbyberg be 2030 extended by a tram depot got to.
