The Strandbadsee Hemmingen (also called Strandbad Hemmingen) is a quarry pond northeast of the Hemmingen district of Westerfeld .
It belongs to the Ricklinger Kiesteiche group in the floodplain of the Leine . The lake is located in the Obere Leine landscape protection area , between the Great Hemminger Pond in the east and the locality of Hemmingen-Westerfeld in the west. The Hemminger Maschgraben runs immediately to the west .
The lake is used as a bathing lake and the water quality is monitored. On the eastern side of the lake there is a lawn with a beach area. In summer there is a lifeguard on duty and there are sanitary facilities. On the west bank of the lido there is the municipal youth care playground, where children and young people build wooden huts as part of activities.
