The Hemminger Maschgraben is about 4 kilometers long, orographically right or southern tributary of the Ihme in the area of ​​the cities of Hemmingen and Hanover in the Hanover region in Lower Saxony ( Germany ).

The Hemminger Maschgraben is being built north of the Hemminger district of Arnum in the southwest of the Sundern nature reserve . It flows north to the west of the Sundern and takes in streams that drain it. The Hemminger Maschgraben crosses the east of the Hemmingen-Westerfeld district and flows between the fields and meadows to the city limits with Hanover. Here it then runs lined with trees to the west of the lido lake and flows through the Teufelskuhle . It crosses under the Südschnellweg and shortly thereafter joins the Ihme , southeast of the Hanover district of Ricklingen .

environment

The upper reaches of the Hemminger Maschgraben marks the southwest border of the Sundern nature reserve. The areas adjacent to this and a section in front of the city limits of Hanover are in the LSG-H 21 - Obere Leine landscape protection area . The section on the Hanoverian area is in LSG-HS 4 - Obere Leine .
