Strasburg Preußenfisch ( Dascyllus strasburgi ) is a kind from the family of damselfish (Pomacentridae). The fish are endemic to the South Pacific Marquesas , an archipelago located 1,600 kilometers northeast of Tahiti and politically part of French Polynesia. Strasburg's Prussian fish replaces the widespread, but closely related three-point Prussian fish ( Dascyllus trimaculatus ) that is not found in the Marquesas .

In terms of color, they are largely similar to the three-point Prussian fish and differ from this species mainly in their metric values. Way of life
The fish live in corals and rock reefs at depths of 5 to 15 meters. Strasburg's Prussian fish feed on copepods , other small planktonic crustaceans, and algae. Like all damselfish, the fish are substrate spawners and stick their spawn to the wall in a cave or hidden niche. The male guards the spawn.
