Strassberg in the Fondei
Strassberg im Fondei is a Walser settlement in the inner Schanfigg . It is located around 4 kilometers northeast of Langwies at an altitude of 1919 m and belongs to the municipality of Arosa .
Today, Strassberg is no longer inhabited all year round, but consists of a restaurant and stables from Langwieser farmers, mountain pastures and holiday homes. The settlement, together with Sapün Dörfji and Medergen, is one of the Langwieser localities of national importance ( ISOS ).
The place is a stage destination of the Schanfigger Höhenweg and the Walserweg Graubünden . In the summer there are regular Walser cultural tours in Strassberg, mostly including the show dairy in the old dairy from 1883.
As a side valley of the Schanfigg, the Fondei is ecologically particularly valuable due to its raised bogs .
