Strathmiglo ( Gaelic : Srath Mioglach ) is a village in the Scottish Council Area Fife . It is located about eight kilometers north-northwest of Glenrothes and 13 km southeast of Perth . In 2011 Strathmiglo had 811 inhabitants.

The Eden flows through Strathmiglo and is formed west of the neighboring Gateside by the confluence of two streams. In ancient times, Strathmiglo's merchants supplied the nearby Falkland Palace . The village developed in the 18th and 19th centuries as a location for the textile industry. Strathmiglo is connected to the road network by the A91 . It once had its own train station, but it no longer exists today.

A Pictish symbol stone , discovered in the 1960s and reused as a goal post, the actual location of which is unknown, now stands at the entrance to the cemetery. It is a simple column into which the head of a deer and a disc (or crescent moon) are cut with a notched rectangle. The stone probably dates from the 7th century. There are relatively few symbol stones in Fife .
