The Straumsida ( Norwegian for river flank ) is a 40 km long cliff in the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . The cliff rises as the eastern slope of the Ahlmannryggen at the mouth of the Jutulstraumen in the Fimbul Ice Shelf .
Norwegian cartographers, who also named it, mapped it using surveys and aerial photographs of the Norwegian-British-Swedish Antarctic Expedition (1949–1952) and aerial photographs of the Third Norwegian Antarctic Expedition (1956–1960) taken between 1958 and 1959 .
