Hans Striefler

Hans Striefler (born May 23, 1907 in Hanover ; † April 27, 1998 ) was a German politician ( SPD ) and a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament .

Life

After attending middle school, Striefler completed an apprenticeship as a plumber and plumber. After three years of activity as a craftsman, he made up his Abitur as a factory student. In 1923 he became a member of the Socialist Workers' Youth and the Free Trade Unions . From 1936 he was employed as a technical employee and later as a technician until 1947. In 1947 he became district secretary of the SPD and managing director of the state committee of the SPD in Lower Saxony. He held this office until 1972.

From 1946 to 1952 Striefler was a member of the City Council of Hanover and from 1951 to 1974 (2nd to 7th electoral term) a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament .

Honors

Striefler was awarded the Great Cross of Merit of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany and the Great Cross of Merit of the Lower Saxony Order of Merit . He was a holder of the Lower Saxony State Medal .
