The Structural and Approval Directorate South ( SGD South ) is the result of the 1999/2000 structural reform of the central authorities on January 1, 2000 together with ADD Trier and SGD North from the previous district governments of Koblenz , Trier and Rheinhessen-Palatinate as well as several independent specialist authorities been formed. The upper state authority based in Neustadt an der Weinstrasse is responsible for certain tasks in the south of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate (former administrative district Rheinhessen-Palatinate ) as well as for some tasks nationwide. President of the authority is Hannes Kopf . Sister authorities are the Supervision and Service Directorate in Trier and the Structure and Approval Directorate North in Koblenz .
