Stuart Carswell (born September 9, 1993 in Bellshill ) is a Scottish football player . The midfielder plays for FC Dumbarton .

Club career

Stuart Carswell was born in Bellshill, Scotland, two kilometers north of Motherwell . Here Carswell began his career at Motherwell FC . He played for The Well up to the U-19s in their youth and had already played in all other age groups. He made his professional debut at the age of 17 under Stuart McCall in the league game of the Scottish Premier League against Heart of Midlothian in April 2011. In the same season he reached the cup final against Celtic Glasgow with Motherwell , however, in the 3-0 defeat there was not in 16-man squad. By the end of the season Carswell had four league games, in the following season 2011/12 on 14 each without scoring. In February 2012 Carswell signed a new contract with The Steelmen until 2014. This he extended early in March 2013 to 2015. After the contract ended, Carswell moved to the Scottish first division relegated FC St. Mirren where he signed a one-year contract. In July 2016, Carswell moved to Iceland to join Keflavík ÍF .
