The district court of Hochheim (also district court of Hochheim am Main ) was a district court that existed from 1867 to 2005 and was based in the city of Hochheim am Main .

prehistory

Bailiwick and court in Hochheim belonged to the Counts of Sponheim in the 13th century and passed to the Lords of Eppstein in 1313 . Hochheim was subordinate to the Eppstein district court of Mechtildshausen . In 1478 the place passed to Kurmainz . The local court was a jury made up of 14 jury members, one of whom had been subordinate since 1548 (with confirmation from the cathedral chapter). In 1786 the judicial system was reorganized: the official school was only responsible for the jurisdiction of Hochheim, Flörsheim and Astheim, the local court, consisting of the mayor and 4 lay judges, was only responsible for voluntary jurisdiction and trials up to 10 guilders.

With the Reichsdeputationshauptschluss 1803 Hochheim came to Nassau . There the jurisdiction was made in the first instance by the bailiff of the Hochheim office . After the March Revolution of 1848, administration and jurisdiction were separated in 1849. The administration went to the district office Höchst , the previous office became the judicial office Hochheim court of first instance. However, this change was reversed in 1854 and the old Hochheim office reintroduced.

history

After the forced incorporation of the Duchy of Nassau into the Prussian state during the German War , a royal decree was issued in June 1867, which completely reorganized the previous Nassau court system. The previous judicial and administrative authorities were abolished and replaced in the area of justice by local courts in the first, district courts in the second and a court of appeal in the third instance. On September 1, 1867, the previous Hochheim office became the Hochheim District Court, whose district thus consists of the city of Hochheim, the market town of Flörsheim and the villages of Breckenheim , Delkenheim , Diedenbergen , Eddersheim , Igstadt , Langenhain , Lorsbach , Marxheim , Massenheim , Medenbach , Nordenstadt , Wallau , Weilbach , Wicker and Wildsachsen . While this court initially belonged to the district of the Wiesbaden District Court , the introduction of the Courts Constitution Act on October 1, 1879 led to the change to the district of the newly established Wiesbaden District Court , at the same time the district of the Hochheim District Court was changed to the Langenhain district assigned to the Höchst am Main District Court , Lorsbach, Marxheim and the districts of Igstadt, Medenbach, Nordenstadt and Wildsachsen allotted to the Wiesbaden district court .

In the course of the regional reform in Hesse , the town of Diedenbergen, which was incorporated into Hofheim am Taunus, had to go to the Frankfurt am Main district court on August 11, 1972 , on July 1, 1973 the town of Eddersheim, which was incorporated into Hattersheim am Main, had to go to the Frankfurt AG and finally on January 1 In 1977 the two towns of Breckenheim and Delkenheim, which were incorporated into Wiesbaden, were handed over to the Wiesbaden district court, and the town of Wallau, which was now part of Hofheim, was handed over to the Frankfurt district court.

On January 1, 2005, the district court of Hochheim am Main was finally repealed and the cities of Hochheim am Main and Flörsheim am Main, which had previously formed its district, were assigned to the district court of Wiesbaden .

Courthouse

The court was located in a Carmelite commercial building built in 1725 and secularized in 1802 at Kirchstrasse 19 in 65239 Hochheim am Main. After 1918, the customs office was also housed in the building, which is now a listed building.
