On March 5, 1960 Elvis Presley was discharged from the US Army after two years of military service. On March 20, he was back in the Nashville RCA recording studio for the first time , where he recorded six tracks in two days. Among them were the two titles Stuck on You and Fame and Fortune . These two tracks were released by RCA on March 23rd as single # 7740. The track Stuck on You , in which Presley sings about being inextricably linked to his lover ("I stick to you like a glue stick"), was featured on Frank Sinatra's Timex television show in Miami Beach on March 26th, Presley's first TV appearance after eight years for which he was paid $ 125,000. On April 4, 1960, Stuck on You appeared for the first time in the Hot 100 of the US music magazine Billbord . The song started in 84th place, but had already reached first place after three weeks.
