Stuckishaus is a district of Bremgarten near Bern in Switzerland .

location

Stuckishaus is located on the former Reichsstrasse from Bern to Aarberg and Neuchâtel . Since the Neubrügg was built in 1535, this has been the most important connection between Bern and the northern surroundings. On the right bank of the Aare, Stuckishausstrasse climbs west to the Möösliweg, Herrenschwanden and Kalchackerstrasse Bremgarten intersection. There the historic, steep "Hohstalen", today Hostalenweg, branches off and leads to the height of the Burrishausgut towards Niederlindach.

history

The current boundaries of the political communities Kirchlindach and Bremgarten did not emerge until 1880 when the Bremgarten municipal court was dissolved and the Bremgarten rule was dissolved . The former only existed as enclaves, consisting of parts of Herrenschwanden, Stuckishaus, Niederlindach and Oberlindach and had a mere 284 inhabitants. The complicated boundary conditions between the two independent communities led to disputes. The individual community assemblies agreed to an adjustment and the Grand Council of the Canton of Bern granted the state approval. In 1510 the Johanniter von Münchenbuchsee sold "plenty of land for 200 pounds" to Niklaus Stucki to finance the church renovation in Bremgarten . The farm on Aarbergstrasse was called “der stuckinen hus” and this became the hamlet of Stuckishaus.

Historic buildings

Down at Hostalenweg there is still the oldest “stone house”, which has often been adapted to the needs of the residents. Johannes Müller opened a grocer's shop in it in 1740 and at times there was also a pint tavern . Müller built in 1745 in the " Tufftgrube " above the oils a house where he was a cooper worked. Two large farms from the 18th century and above all the “Belvedere” form the core of the village. The architect Erasmus Ritter built the country house for Mr. Friedrich von Luternau († 1797) in 1770. In 1855 the originally one-story building was extended and became the Belvedere restaurant for around 100 years. The current owner is carefully restoring the Belvedere for residential purposes. The "Rudolf von Erlach" near Neubrügg is also a former restaurant. Originally called the “oils” because an oil press and pestle were operated in the building . The later inn changed the name several times from “Schützen” to “Weisses Rössel”, to “Rudolf von Erlach”, to “Rössli” and again to “Rudolf von Erlach”; it was closed in 2012.

The extensive Stuckishausgüter was and will continue to be densely built over, because Stuckishaus is an agglomeration of the city of Bern.
