Su Shulin

Su Shulin ( Chinese  苏树林 , Pinyin Sū Shùlín ; * 1962 in Dong'e County , Shandong Province ) is a Chinese manager and politician .

Life

Su grew up as the child of a farm laborer in Heilongjiang . At the age of 17 he was admitted to the Daqing Petroleum Institute to study economics and engineering . He graduated in 1983. He joined the Chinese Communist Party (CPC) in 1985. He obtained a Masters degree from Harbin Institute of Technology in China in 1999 .

Su Shulin worked for the Chinese oil company PetroChina in the Daqing oil fields and made a steep professional career there in a short time. After all, from 1999 to 2006 he was a board member of PetroChina, the largest publicly traded company in the world. From 2002, he held the positions of Deputy General Manager, Vice President and member of the leading corporate party committee at PetroChina's parent company, China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC). From 2007 to 2011, Su was chairman of the Chinese company Sinopec ; he was followed by Fu Chengyu .

From 2002 to 2012 he was a candidate for the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and in November 2012 he was elected as a full member of the Central Committee. In 2011 he became governor of Fujian Province .

On October 7, 2015, the Chinese Communist Party's Central Disciplinary Commission suddenly announced that it had opened an investigation into Su for serious violations of party discipline. In November 2015, he was replaced as governor of Fujian by Yu Weiguo .
