The building at Sudenburger Strasse 24 is a listed residential building in the Magdeburg district of Leipziger Strasse in Saxony-Anhalt .

It is located in the Insel district in a corner at the eastern end of Sudenburger Strasse on the south side. The building, which is also listed, is adjacent to Sudenburger Strasse 23 to the west.

Architecture and history

The five-story building was erected in 1887. Master mason Carl Hentrich was the owner and responsible for the construction . The facade of the building is designed in the neo-renaissance style. On the ground floor there is a structure using plaster tape. In addition, there are horizontally running narrow plaster strips. The roofing windows on the first floor are spanned with triangular gables, on the second floor with round arches. The house is covered with a flat roof .

In the local register of monuments , the house is listed under registration number 094 70465 as a monument .

Together with the building on the opposite, Sudenburger Strasse 3 and the neighboring house, Sudenburger Strasse 23, the residential building forms the last remaining parts of the Wilhelminian style development on the street. It was built as a simple historic tenement house in the original working-class district , near the Gruson factory .

After a long period of vacancy, the building was in urgent need of renovation. Corresponding work took place in 2018.
