Sudi Türel

Sudi Neş'e Türel (born March 31, 1929 in Antalya ; † June 30, 2009 in Istanbul ) was a Turkish politician of the motherland party ANAP ( Anavatan Partisi ) , who was Minister of Energy and Natural Resources between 1985 and 1987.

Life

After attending school, Türel studied engineering at Yıldız Teknik Üniversitesi and then worked as a manager. In 1983 he was one of the co-founders of the motherland party ANAP, for which he was first elected to the Grand National Assembly in the parliamentary elections on November 6, 1983 . He initially represented Antalya there and, after the parliamentary elections from October 29, 1987 to November 2, 1991, Istanbul.

Türel was Minister of State (Devlet Bakanı) in the first cabinet of Prime Minister Turgut Özal between December 13, 1983 and January 5, 1985 . On January 5, 1985, in the course of a cabinet reshuffle, Türel was appointed Minister-President Özal's successor to Cemal Büyükbaş as Minister for Energy and Natural Resources (Enerji ve Tabii Kaynaklar Bakanı) and held this office in the 45th government of Turkey until December 21 1987, while Büyükbaş became Minister of State.

He was married and had a daughter and a son.
