Suffolk Downs is a subway station of the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) in the Boston borough of East Boston in the state of Massachusetts in the United States and named after the horse racing track of the same name . It provides access to the line Blue Line .

history

The original station was built on April 21, 1952 at the site of the former Belle Isle railway depot on the Boston, Revere Beach and Lynn Railroad . One of the platforms fell victim to a fire on February 14, 1976, and the station was rebuilt in 1984. Another new building followed from 1994 to 1995.

The metro station is located at the address 1230 Bennington Street at Walley Street and is completely barrier-free accessible.

There is no connection to the MBTA bus lines at the station, but there are 110 parking spaces available for a fee.
