The Suggan Buggan River is a river in southeast Australia .
It rises below Forrest Hill in the Pilot Wilderness Area , a federal nature reserve south of Kosciuszko National Park . The source is still in New South Wales , right on the border with Victoria . From there, the Suggan Buggan River flows southeast through the small town of Suggan Buggan and finally flows seven kilometers above McKillops Bridge into the Snowy River .
Most of the river lies within nature reserves and national parks. On the Victorian side, these are the Alpine National Park (northwest of Suggan Buggan) and the Snowy River National Park (southeast of the small town). Therefore, with one exception, there are no settlements on its banks.
