Sulcorebutia cardenasiana is a species of plant in the genus Sulcorebutia from the cactus family(Cactaceae). The specific epithet honors the Bolivian botanist Martín Cárdenas (1899–1973).
description
Sulcorebutia cardenasiana grows individually with spherical, dark green bodies. With a diameter of 8 centimeters, these reach heights of up to 5 centimeters and have a long taproot . The 14 ribs are arranged in a spiral and divided into humps. The areoles on it are yellowish white. The single central spine may be absent. The conspicuously roughened, yellowish radial spines are arranged in a comb shape and 5 to 10 millimeters long.
The yellow flowers are 2.5 centimeters long and have the same diameter. The spherical fruits are green.
Distribution, systematics and endangerment
Sulcorebutia cardenasiana is common in the Bolivian departments of Cochabamba and Santa Cruz at altitudes between 2300 and 2800 meters.
The first description was published in 1975 by Roberto Vásquez (* 1941).

In the Red List of Threatened Species of the IUCN , the species is listed as " Least Concern (LC) ". H. listed as not endangered.
