Sulo Usa Jääskeläinen (born December 19, 1890 in Vyborg , Russian Empire , † January 12, 1942 in Kotka , Finland ) was a Finnish ski jumper and Nordic combined athlete .

Career

Jääskeläinen, who started for the Lahden Hiihtoseura club , celebrated his first international success when he won the first Baron von Willibrandt Challenge Cup in Sweden on March 5, 1911 , starting for Russia . In 1923 and 1924 he won the Lahti Ski Games .

At the 1924 Winter Olympics in Chamonix-Mont-Blanc , he started in ski jumping as well as in combination. In ski jumping from the normal hill, he reached 11th place. In the Nordic Combined he reached the 16th place in the individual after the 6th place in jumping and 19th place in cross-country skiing . At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Lahti in 1926 , Jääskeläinen jumped from the normal hill to 8th place and reached 18th place in the combination.
