Sun Daolin

Sun Daolin ( Chinese abbreviation: 孙道临; traditional traditional characters : 孫道臨; Pinyin : Sūn Dàolín; * December 18, 1921 in Beijing ; † December 28, 2007 in Shanghai ) was a Chinese actor and film director .

Life

His career began in 1949, shortly before the Chinese Revolution, with the feature film Crows and Sparrows by Zheng Junli . He became known in 1957 with the film Family , in which he played Ba Jin's brother . He was also known as a voice actor in many films. In 2005 he stopped acting.

From the 1980s he became increasingly active as a film director. In 1983 he wrote the script and directed the film Thunderstorm . In 2000 he was honored by Jiang Zemin for his "patriotic spirit" for his film Zhan Tianyou , a documentary about railway construction in China in the 1920s . In 2001 he received an award for Zhan Tianyou .

In his more than seventy-year creative period, he was involved in over 100 films and plays. In 1995 he was honored with the Chinese Film Industry Award.
