The Baram ( Malay Sungai Baram or Batang Baram ) is a river on Borneo in Malaysia .

The river flows through the Malaysian state of Sarawak and is the second longest river in Sarawak at 400 km. The Baram has its source in the Iran Mountains in the center of Borneo and flows into the South China Sea as a black water river in the north of the island . Its catchment area of ​​22,100 km² includes almost the entire Miri administrative division . Its main tributaries are the Sungai Tinjar from the left and the Sungai Tutoh from the right.
