Sunmi (born May 2, 1992 in Iksan ) is a South Korean pop singer . She was a member of the girl group Wonder Girls .
Career
From 2006 Sunmi was a member of the Wonder Girls group. In January 2010, however, their management company JYP announced that Sunmi would interrupt her musical career and continue her academic career.
After a three-year break, Sunmi started her career as a solo artist in August 2013. Her debut single 24 Hours was a huge success. After further successful releases, Sunmi returned to Wonder Girls in 2015 and released a self-produced album with the group.
After the group broke up in early 2017, Sunmi switched to MakeUs Entertainment and returned as a solo artist with her single Gashina . In January 2018 she released a sequel to her single Gashina with Heroine .
After her first world tour in February 2019, Sunmi released two more songs with Noir and Lalalay . In early 2020 she released the song Gotta Go for the soundtrack of the web series "XX".
