Seniors Party of Finland

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Seniors' Party of Finland ( Finnish : Suomen Senioripuolue) is a party founded in Finland in 1991 . It works almost exclusively to improve the treatment of pensioners and the elderly in politics; a small part of their election program is for the protection of culture and the environment.

The party was last entered into the Finnish register of parties on April 1, 2004 , after it was founded in 1991 under the name Riippumattomat sitoutumattomat eläikeläiset ( German: Independent neutral pensioners) and later in Eläkeläiset Kansan Asialla (EKA or ELKA), pensioner in the matter of the people, had been renamed.

The party's only current city councilor is the former Konstapel Paavo Sirkiä in Hämeenlinna . In the 2004 local elections (at that time still known as EKA), Suomen Senioripuolue also got a reserve deputy in Turku through a coalition with the Suomen kansan sinivalkoiset party .
