Parliamentary election in Finland 1999
The 1999 parliamentary elections in Finland took place on March 21, 1999. It was the election for the 33rd Finnish Parliament .
Despite losses, the Social Democrats were barely the strongest force in front of the center and the conservative rallying party. In addition to the center and the rallying party, the Green Bund and the Christian Democrats also made slight profits. The virgin women who entered parliament with two seats in 1995 did not get another entry.
The Communist Party of Finland , which was newly registered in 1997, took part in the parliamentary elections for the first time. With 0.8%, however, she received no mandate.
After the elections , Prime Minister Paavo Lipponen (Social Democratic Party), who has ruled since 1995, continued the so-called rainbow coalition.
