The presidential election in Finland in 1994 was held on January 16 and 6. February 1994 instead. It was the first direct election of a Finnish president. Since no candidate achieved an absolute majority in the first ballot, a runoff election had to be held.

The candidate of the Social Democratic Party of Finland , Martti Ahtisaari , prevailed in the runoff election against Elisabeth Rehn from the Swedish People's Party .
