The high school student Haru Kaidō ( 海棠 晴 ) flies over the summer to his mother Haruko, who lives in the wilderness of Canada. Once there, he should take care of his new stepbrother. Ren Kaidō ( 海棠 零 ), who is a few years younger , was only recently taken in by Haruko and avoids other people. He has been mistreated and has lost his memory, so he now prefers to just play with the dogs and avoid people. Haru should get Ren, who also speaks Japanese, used to dealing with people again. The two become friends over the summer and Haru wants to take his new stepbrother back to Japan with him. But on the way home there is an accident in which Haru's father and stepmother die. Haru is injured and loses memory of the summer with Ren.

Five years later, Haru works successfully as a host in a club and earns the money that enables his two brothers Shima and Aki to study. Since Haru has promised Ren to live with him later, Ren comes to Japan to keep this promise.
