Suraj Sharma (born March 21, 1993 in New Delhi ) is an Indian actor who became known with his acting debut in 2012 in the lead role of Pi Patel in the adventure drama Life of Pi: Shipwreck with Tiger .

Life

Sharma's father is a software engineer, his mother an economist. In the casting for Life of Pi , Sharma prevailed against 3,000 competitors, although he had no acting experience. By Ang Lee , the director of the film, he was chosen for its appearance. After filming, he returned to the University of Delhi to study philosophy . In 2014, he took on the role of professional baseball Rinku Singh in the Disney film Million Dollar Arm directed by Craig Gillespie . In 2019 he starred in the horror film Happy Deathday 2U .
