The Susan River is a river in the southeast of the Australian state of Queensland .
geography
The river has its source north of Maryborough . It flows east, crosses under the road from Maryborough to Hervey Bay and flows into the Mary River at River Heads , just before it reaches the Great Sandy Strait . The Susan River has no tributaries.
bridge
The road from Maryborough to Hervey Bay crosses the Susan River Bridge . This was created in 1977 and is passed by more than 10,000 cars every day. It wasn't until 2009 that it got its name.
fauna
In 2007 a fisherman found an unusual armfin in the river . The fish was the first to have its genetic data recorded in an international fish catalog called the Fish Barcode of Life (FISH-BOL). Here they turned DNA barcoding to.
