Susanna Majuri

Susanna Majuri (born November 24, 1978 in Helsinki , Finland , † March 5, 2020 ) was a Finnish photographer who is assigned to the Helsinki School .

Life

Majuri began studying creative writing at Orivesi College in 1999 , but switched to photography at Voionmaa College that same year . In 2004 she graduated from the Turku Arts Academy with a Bachelor of Arts degree . She obtained her Master of Arts (MA) in photography from the University of Art and Design Helsinki in 2007 , which is now part of Aalto University in Helsinki.

Majuri's photographs are short narratives and are reminiscent of stills (film stills). They very often depict young women whose faces are not visible and who make a lost impression.

In 2007 the photographer designed the cover for the CD Veden varaan by the Finnish group PMMP with one of her works .
