Susanne Fischer (literary scholar)
Susanne Fischer (born August 18, 1960 in Hamburg ) is a German writer , journalist and editor .
Life
Susanne Fischer studied German and political science in Hamburg , graduated with a master's degree and worked from 1980 to 1988 as a freelance journalist and audio game editor. She has published since 1986 and has been a columnist for the daily newspaper since 1995 . Furthermore, numerous contributions have appeared in anthologies .
Since 1989 she has been a research assistant, since 2001 she has been managing director and since 2018 she has been the managing director of the Arno Schmidt Foundation , Bargfeld . She was responsible for managing several editions of the foundation.
In May 2013 she was honored with the Ben Witter Prize as a "passionate human observer and everyday writer who describes life in the German province from Uelzen to Berlin as cheerful as it is evil in her stories and columns", according to the jury's verdict. Susanne Fischer is a board member of the German Literature Fund . She is a member of the PEN Center Germany .
