Fanny Müller
Fanny Müller (actually Ingeborg Glock ; born July 17, 1941 in Helmste ; † May 17, 2016 ) was a German writer and satirist . Between 1986 and 1987 she was a member of the GAL parliamentary group of the Hamburg parliament for a few months . She lived in Hamburg .
Live and act
Activity as a teacher and in politics
After graduating from high school, Ingeborg Glock completed an apprenticeship in hotel management. From 1970 she studied pedagogy and sociology . She then worked for eleven years as a teacher at a technical trade school. Later she taught illiterate adults at the community college .
Glock was a member of the education and science union and the Graue Panther eV association in Hamburg. She also got involved as a shop steward and school district spokesperson. She sympathized with the Colorful List and was a founding member of the Alternative List. In 1986 she stood for the GAL, which for the first time had put up an all-women list that year, in the mayor elections and in November she entered the 12th Hamburg parliament . Her women's group, consisting of 13 GAL politicians, was controversial, but in the 12th legislative period it had a relatively large amount of influence on the decisions of the state parliament, as the SPD relied on their votes for resolutions and the CDU was also able to overrule the SPD with the GAL votes . In May 1987, however, the citizenship was re-elected after failed coalition negotiations and Glock lost her mandate.
Author
Under the pseudonym Fanny Müller she wrote her stories about Mrs. K. which first appeared in the satirical magazine Kowalski and in the Hamburg edition of the taz . For some time, a column by Fanny Müller appeared in the satirical magazine Titanic under the title "With the eyes of a woman". She also wrote for Jungle World , Brigitte , Stern , Weltwoche , Frankfurter Rundschau and Spiegel special .
From 1994 Fanny Müller's texts were also published in book form. The first volume already contained everyday stories from the old neighbor Mrs. K. and her dachshund Trixi in Hamburg's Schanzenviertel , which also appear frequently in later publications. Her first two books were published by Weisser Stein , after which she switched to Edition Tiamat . Its publisher Klaus Bittermann writes in an obituary of a "gruff and yet at the same time lovable humor" of Müller.
In 2005 she was awarded the Ben Witter Prize for her “funny, malicious glosses” .
