Susanne Friede (* 1969 ) is a German Romanist .

Life

From 1989 to 1995 she studied Classical and Romance Philology and Classical Archeology at the University of Göttingen and the University of Blaise Pascal Clermont-Ferrand II ( License en lettres modern and 1st state examination in Latin and French). From 1996 to 1999 she was a research assistant for preparation and work at the Collaborative Research Center 529 "Internationality of National Literatures", sub-project A (Types of regional differentiation and the creation of cultural identity in the medieval Alexanderepic) and studies Italian studies . From 1999 to 2002 she was a research assistant at the Chair of Romance Literature ( Ulrich Mölk ), Institute for Medieval Latin and Romance Philology, in Göttingen ; there Promotion ; Dissertation: The Perception of the Wonderful. The Roman d'Alexandre in the context of 12th century French literature . From 2002 to 2009 she was a research assistant for the Romance section of the European Turn of the Century project . Literature, arts, sciences around 1900 in cross-border perception at the Academy of Sciences in Göttingen . After the habilitation in 2010 The Italian novel at the transition to modernity. The serial novels of the Nuova Antologia (1899–1908) in the 'Text der Kulturzeitschrift' . From 2009 to 2011 she was a scientific editor at the Encyclopedia of Fairy Tales. Concise dictionary for historical and comparative narrative research, Academy of Sciences in Göttingen. From 2011 to 2013 she represented professorships in French, Italian and Romance literature at the Georg-August University in Göttingen. Since 2013 she has taught as a university professor for Romance literature at the University of Klagenfurt . She has been a reviewer for the DAAD and the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation since 2014 . She has been co-editor of the literary yearbook since 2015. Since 2018 she has been the project manager of the Austrian part of the DACH project ( DFG / FWF ) "Antiklassicismen im Cinquecento". Since the winter semester 2019/2020, Friede has been teaching as a university professor at the Romance Department of the Ruhr University Bochum .
