Susanne Herold (born April 22, 1959 in Schönberg / Holstein ) is a German politician ( CDU ).

Life and work

After graduating from high school in Preetz in 1978 , Susanne Herold studied English and economics / politics at the University of Education in Kiel . After completing her legal clerkship from 1983 to 1985 at a secondary school in Rendsburg, she initially worked as a salaried teacher and at the Schleswig-Holstein Youth Foundation. From 1988 she was a secondary school teacher at the Kurt Tucholsky School in Flensburg .

Political party

After becoming a member of the Junge Union in 1975 , Susanne Herold also joined the CDU in 1978. She has been a member of the state executive committee of the CDU in Schleswig-Holstein since 2002 and was chairwoman of the CDU district association in Flensburg from 2004 to 2012.

Susanne Herold was a member of the Flensburg City Council from 1998 to 2006.

On April 28, 2005, she replaced the resigned MP Heinz Maurus in the Schleswig-Holstein state parliament and was elected to the board of the CDU parliamentary group as well as chair of the parliamentary group's education . She is also the specialist spokesperson for the CDU parliamentary group for the Schleswig / Sønderjylland regional council .

In the early state election on September 27, 2009, she won the Flensburg constituency directly.

From 2009 to 2012 Susanne Herold was deputy chairwoman of the CDU parliamentary group and chairwoman of the education committee of the Schleswig-Holstein state parliament.

In the state election on May 6, 2012 , Herold ran again as a direct candidate for the CDU, but this time was defeated by her SPD opponent Simone Lange .

Since the CDU's state list did not come into play due to the distribution of constituencies in the state, Herold left the state parliament at the constituent session.
