Susanne Kowarc (born 1968) is an Austrian contemporary historian and author who has worked on the history of National Socialism in Austria .

Susanne Kowarc completed her studies in 1993 as a Magistra at the University of Vienna with a thesis on the reintegration of victims of Nazi persecution into Austrian post-war society.

She was one of the scientific staff of the 1938 exhibition organized by the DÖW on behalf of the Federal Ministry of the Interior . National Socialist rule in Austria on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the "Anschluss" of Austria to the German Reich in March 1938 and the establishment of the Mauthausen concentration camp in August 1938 Together with the historian Rudolf Kropf from the Johannes Kepler University Linz , she worked on the complex of topics National Socialist architecture and urban planning . The exhibition was on view in Vienna and for a long time in the Mauthausen Memorial.

Kowarc researched the history of the expulsion of Jewish tenants from their apartments in Vienna between 1938 and 1945 and is co-author of the reports " Aryanization " and the restoration of apartments in Vienna published by the Austrian Commission of Historians in 2000 . Another focus of contemporary history is denazification after 1945.

Susanne Kowarc also claims to work as a state-certified tourist guide for Austria ("Austria Guide") and an independent tour guide .
