Susanne Lin-Klitzing (born Susanne Lin, born August 27, 1963 in Bremerhaven ) is a German educationalist, professor at the Philipps University of Marburg and, since 2017, federal chairwoman of the German Association of Philologists .

Life

After studying German, Protestant theology, pedagogy and psychology in Marburg (among others with Hans Christoph Berg ) and Tübingen, she taught for several years as a high school teacher at various city and rural high schools in Baden-Württemberg as well as in teacher training at the Esslingen seminar . After completing her doctorate with Wolfgang Klafki , she moved to the University of Stuttgart. Susanne Lin-Klitzing has been professor for school pedagogy for grammar school teacher training at the Philipps University of Marburg since 2007, where she completed her habilitation in 2009. She was Vice Dean (2011–2014) and Dean (2014–2017) of the Faculty of Education there .

In 2004 she received the outstanding state teaching award for Baden-Württemberg for her outstanding teaching achievements and the use of electronic media in the course "Didactic models - presented online".

Since 1994 in the Philologists Association of Baden-Württemberg as spokesperson for education policy and deputy chairwoman, since 2001 on the Executive Board of the German Philologists Association, she was elected as the first woman to head the German Philologists Association (founded in 1903 in Halle an der Saale) in December 2017 . Since April 1, 2018, Lin-Klitzing has been on leave of absence from her teaching and examination activities in Marburg for an expected three years.

Lin-Klitzing is co-editor of the book series "Gymnasium - Bildung - Gesellschaft" in Klinkhardt-Verlag and represents the high school's profile along the goals of the upper secondary school: in-depth general education, scientific propaedeutics, general study ability.
