Susanne Schmid-Keller (* 1956 ) is a Swiss politician ( SP ) and high school teacher. She is a Cantonal Councilor in the canton of St.Gallen .

From 1997 to 2016 Susanne Schmid-Keller was a member of the St. Gallen city ​​parliament. In 2012 she stood for election as cantonal councilor, but was not elected. She was elected for the first time in 2016 and was confirmed on March 8, 2020 in the last elections to the cantonal council on the “SP, JUSO and trade unions - women * list”.

Professional Activities

Susanne Schmid-Keller has been President of the "Cantonal High School Teachers Association St. Gallen" since September 2017. As a secondary school teacher, she teaches geography and ecology at the canton school at Brühl , St. Gallen. She is also Vice President of the "Eastern Switzerland Geographical Society". She is the president of the "Wohnliches St. Georgen" association, a working group that promotes a better quality of life in the neighborhoodSt. Georgen starts. The association has taken on this task since 1987 by designing family-friendly neighborhoods with sustainable transport solutions and securing school routes.
