Susanne Stahli
Susanne Stähli (born December 31, 1959 in Munich ) is a German painter.
Life
Susanne Stähli was born in Munich in 1959. From 1982 to 1986 she studied painting at the FH for Art and Art Therapy, Ottersberg . In 1989 she received the sponsorship award from the city of Witten. As a trained art therapist, Stähli has been working with the Ita Wegman Therapeutikum in Dortmund since 2005 . In 2006 she was artist in residence at the University of Witten / Herdecke . Since 2007 she has been teaching at the same university. Susanne Stähli lives and works in Witten .

“For me, color is not what comes out of the tube. There it is material and its qualities must first be brought out. By looking, sensing and 'tasting' each color shade slowly emerges what you finally see on the canvas. For me it is not about expressing my mood, my subjectivity, my emotions on the canvas, but rather helping a color to appear in its broad spectrum. "
Susanne Stähli has long been concerned with the different expressive values and the nuanced perception possibilities of colors. Over time, this led to a reduction in image elements such as line or shape. Above all in her large-format works, the viewer can experience 'that is in color'. She achieves the high luminosity of her pictures through a glaze-like layering of the paint.
