Susanne Teschl

Susanne Teschl (born August 20, 1971 in Graz ) is an Austrian mathematician and university lecturer at the Technikum Wien .

Life

Susanne Teschl was born Susanne Timischl on August 20, 1971 in Graz. She studied mathematics and physics at the University of Graz and the University of Missouri and graduated from the latter university in 1995. This was followed by a doctorate in mathematics with Franz Kappel in 1998 with the topic A Global Model for the Cardiovascular and Respiratory System . She initially taught at the University of Applied Sciences Campus 02 , then headed the areas of mathematics, computer science and geosciences at the Fund for the Promotion of Scientific Research and in 2002 moved to the Technikum Wien, where she has been a professor since 2004.

She is married to the mathematician Gerald Teschl and has two sons.

Susanne Teschl works in the field of biomathematics , especially breathing gas analysis , and together with her husband has written the two-volume textbook mathematics for computer scientists .

Teschl belongs to the Institute for Applied Mathematics and Natural Sciences, which she also headed from 2006 to 2010.
