Susanne Thurn

Susanne Thurn (* 1947 ) is a German history teacher . She was from 1990 to 2013 Head of the Laboratory School Bielefeld at the University of Bielefeld .

She studied in Bonn (among others) with the historian and didactic specialist Annette Kuhn . After the first state examination in 1971 and activities in scientific tasks, Thurn began teaching as a teacher in 1978 at the laboratory school, which had emerged as a reform school under Hartmut von Hentig . From 1990 to 2013 she was the head of the school. In 1991, she received his doctorate at the University of Osnabrück with the thesis "... and what does that have to do with me?" History Teaching positions . The historian Hans-Jürgen Pandel was in charge of the work . Since 2003 she has been an honorary professor at the University of Halle-Wittenberg . She published several teaching suggestions and historical didactic articles as well as non-fiction children's books. She is opposed to traditional history lessons because neither the content nor the methods are suitable for children. She is particularly committed to everyday history .

At the end of her school management she drew a conclusion of her work in which she grants the laboratory school a high educational role model. In 2019 she worked on the new education program in the education commission of the Greens in North Rhine-Westphalia.

After preliminary work in the 1970s, she co-edited the correspondence between Karl Kautsky and Eduard Bernstein .

Susanne Thurn was married to the history didactic Klaus Bergmann .
