Susauna

Susauna ( [zuˈzɛːmɐ] ? / I ) is a fraction of the municipality of S-chanf in the Upper Engadin . The hamlet is 2 km north-west of Chapella at the entrance to Val Susauna on the Vallember stream . About 20 people live in the temporary settlement in summer, the majority of whom speak the Rhaeto-Romanic dialect Puter and are predominantly of the Reformed denomination. Audio file / audio sample

In addition to a restaurant, the village has a listed Reformed church and is a stop on the Way of St. James in Graubünden and the Via Valtellina .

In 1856 one of the last bearded vultures in Switzerland was caught in Susauna by the bear hunter Jachen Küng .
