The Suzuki DR 125 S (SF 43 B) is a motorcycle made by Suzuki Motor Corporation . The motorcycle was built from the mid-1980s to 2001. At the same time, the Suzuki GN 125 appeared with an identical engine, electric starter and five-speed gearbox.
Model history
There were only minor changes over the entire construction period. Only different color compositions differentiated the individual years of construction. At the beginning of production, the DR 125 S (type SF 43 B) had a single-cylinder four-stroke engine and a kick starter. In the 1990s the motorcycle was revised and sold as the DR 125 SE (type SF 44 A). In this new edition, it received a new rear, a constant pressure carburetor instead of the outdated round slide carburetor and an electric starter instead of the kick starter.
The DR is characterized by its low acquisition and maintenance costs. At that time, Japanese manufacturers were among the few in the light motorcycle sector who were again working with four-stroke single-cylinder engines in order to achieve, among other things, lower fuel consumption than two-stroke engines and smoother running.
The GN or DR motor is also installed in the Suzuki VanVan 125, the latest generation with electronic fuel injection.
