Takayuki Suzuki ( Japanese 鈴木 隆 行 Suzuki Takayuki ; born June 5, 1976 ) is a former Japanese football player .
Career
society
Suzuki has played for the Kashima Antlers for most of his career so far . In total, he was under contract with the Japanese club six times in ten years. In between he played in Brazil and Belgium.
On January 28, 2006 he signed with the Serbian club FK Red Star Belgrade . During his time in Belgrade, he was only in six league games on the field and scored no goal. So he moved back to his home country on January 19, 2007. Even with the Yokohama F. Marinos he could not prevail.
In March 2008 he moved to the Portland Timbers in the USL First Division on a free transfer . Here he became a regular again. He stayed here until 2010. Then he was without a club for half a year before Mito Hollyhock signed him . With his new club he played in the J2 League . In early 2015 he moved to his former club JEF United Ichihara Chiba . There he was only used twice and then ended his career.
National team
Takayuki Suzuki made his international debut for Japan in 2001. He took part in the Confederations Cup in 2001 , where he also scored his first goal, and in the 2002 World Cup. At the World Cup he was on the field at all games. He was also Asian champion with the Japanese selection in 2004.
