Suzy & Los Quattro is a Spanish band from Barcelona . Influenced by the Ramones , Blondie and The Beach Boys , she plays punk rock with only English lyrics. The name of the band is a tribute to the American singer Suzi Quatro .

history

BB Quattro and Suzy Chain met at school and began to cover songs by Deborah Harry and Chris Stein, founders of the band Blondie , together. The couple often attended concerts by the Spanish bands Shock Treatment and Depressing Claim , where they met Coky Ordoñez and Tomás Ramos, who played in these bands. The first EP Freakshow with the cast Johnny Quattro on guitar, BB Quattro on bass and backing vocals, Tomás Ramos on drums and Suzy Chain as dominant singer, produced by Coky Ordoñez in his Rockaway studios and was released in 2003 by the No Tomorrow label. After Freakshow was named Song of the Year on the Spanish broadcaster Radio Nacional de España , the group was invited to various events and now appeared as a live band, reinforced by Coky Quattro and Johnny Quattro as guitarists. In October 2004 the debut album Ready to Go!

The band toured successfully in Spain, France, Great Britain, Germany and Japan in the following years. In Liverpool she performed twice in the legendary Cavern Club , in Tokyo she played two days in a row during the Tour Lipstick to Japan in a sold out house and was enthusiastically celebrated.

The 2006 compilation The Singles contains the tracks from the EP Freak-Show , a cover each by the Ramones and Twisted Sister and two tracks that the band recorded together with TV Smith . In 2007 Coky Quattro and Tommy Quattro left the band in favor of their own projects. CG Quattro was accepted as guitarist in the group, but left again in 2008 with Johnny Quattro.

In June 2008 the album Stick With It was released , which was recorded with the line-up B. B. Quattro, Suzy Chain, the new guitarist Joey Quattro and drummer Yuri Quattro. Tim Cross played the keyboard on this production . The American actor and musician Robbie Rist , who produced the album, was involved as guitarist and background singer .

Since 2009 Suzy Chain and B. B. Quattro have been on tour with guitarist Marky Quattro and since 2010 with a new drummer Rocky Quattro.

The new studio album Hank , released in late December 2011, is dedicated to a friend of the band who was murdered on March 8, 2009. According to the band's statement on their homepage, "the album tells the story of overcoming the most painful experience they have ever had" and "they also hope that this album can help others who have to cope with a similar loss."
